How to apply ALTSOL.
preparation is everything. follow these steps for a natural, streak-free result every time.
three steps. one ritual.
prepare your skin. apply with the mitt. allow to develop. that is it.
the full guide below takes you through each step in detail.
the ritual
01. exfoliate
two days before tanning, exfoliate thoroughly using a body scrub or mitt. pay attention to knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists where skin is thicker. this creates an even surface for the tan to develop on.
02. moisturise
on the day of tanning, apply a light moisturiser to any dry areas. focus on elbows, knees, and ankles. allow it to absorb fully. do not use heavy or oil-based products.
03. prepare your mitt
slip the ALTSOL Tanning Mitt onto your hand. spray the mist directly onto the mitt or lightly onto clean, dry skin. do not over-saturate. a light, even coating is all you need.
04. apply in sections
work from the bottom up. use circular, blending motions. legs, then torso, then arms. blend lightly around elbows, knees, wrists, and ankles to avoid build-up.
05. face application
spray a small amount onto the mitt and blend lightly outward from the centre. avoid the hairline and eyebrows. less is more.
06. dry and develop
allow the formula to dry completely before dressing. wear loose, dark clothing. colour develops gradually over 4 to 8 hours. do not shower or sweat during development time.
tips for the best result
-
build gradually
ALTSOL is a gradual formula. apply daily to build your colour, then every 2 to 3 days to maintain.
-
moisturise between
keeping skin hydrated extends the life of your tan and helps it fade naturally. apply a lightweight body lotion daily.
-
rinse your mitt
after each use, rinse the mitt under warm water and allow to dry naturally. a clean mitt gives a more even result.
-
avoid water early
for the first 4 to 8 hours, avoid swimming, bathing, or heavy exercise. this allows the formula to develop properly.
